Zwei Medaillen gewannen Schwedens Springreiter bei der EM zu Hause in Göteborg. Es war die Krönung einer Entwicklung, die in den 80er-Jahren begann und ab 2000 erste Früchte trug. Peter Eriksson, Rolf-Göran Bengtsson, Maria Gretzer, Malin Baryard, Helena Lundbäck, Peder Fredricson, Lisen Bratt, Jens Fredricson und Henrik von Eckermann sind die, die dafür in erster Linie verantwortlich sind.
